Construction Phase Services

Once a capital improvement or land development project is designed, permitted and funded, it is time to start construction.

During the construction phase West Consultants can assist in the selection of a contractor and in monitoring the contractor’s work.

West Consultants has experienced personnel that can provide this service.  These administrative services can help your organization gain confidence that the project is being constructed as intended and in compliance with applicable laws and regulations. 

Services typically include:

• Soliciting bids in accordance with applicable General Statutes and funding agency requirements, analyzing bids, and evaluating bidder qualifications.
• Reviewing contracts, bonds, shop drawings, contractor application for payment, and other documents throughout the life of the project, to help ensure compliance with the project’s objectives, specifications, schedule, and budget.
• Observing or inspecting the construction, whether periodically or daily, and conducting meetings with the several parties involved… so that you have feedback on the progress and the quality of the work. 
• Acting as your representative in many matters, such as in communicating with the contractor about schedules, costs, and specifics of the project.
• Assisting with the grant and loan administration throughout the project phases, such as generating periodic reimbursement requests and preparing final reports.
